Welcome to...
The Very Little Llama Farm

Thank you for visiting our website. Since our passion is miniature llamas, we are delighted you have chosen to take the time to look at our farm and the animals we have been blessed to have on our property.

El Mirage captures Grand Champion award for best female miniature llama at the Virginia Classic show held March 17th, 2008, in Lexington, Virginia.    What a great way to start this year!!

Living in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia is proving to be the most wonderful experience and an ideal location in which to raise our elegant, inquisitive and personable miniature llamas. We hope you will enjoy our website. We are delighted when people call to set up a time to stop by our farm and personally meet these jewels of the camelid family. If it’s impossible for you to come here for an up-close-and-personal viewing, we trust the pictures and descriptions herein will enable you to get a good idea of the animals we have for breeding purposes and for sale. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have or to inquire about a specific animal in which you may have an interest, even if they might not be on our for sale page. We do our best to accommodate those who have an interest in our animals.

Since we limit the number of llamas on our farm to no more than 15 permanent residents, we can guarantee all our llamas are given a great deal of personal, hands-on attention, something large- sized farms may wish to accomplish but can’t always practice and provide. Cria are trained to the halter and lead at only a few weeks of age, with mama walking alongside for a calming effect. This helps to show the cria there is no reason to be frightened of us. Since we have already had our hands all over the cria at the time of its birth, or within a few hours time, once we begin to groom, clip toenails, worm, etc., the cria’s exposure to early-on human interaction makes it a much less traumatic experience. This is reinforced every time we work with them. The rapport that is established – and that is continued as they mature – benefits them, us and you, the potential purchaser.

Meet the newest - and last 2008 cria - born on our farm in late May -- and a very flashy girl she is with her black and pure white markings.  we decided Flashy Lady describes her to a "T".

News Flash …….

We are happy to announce that Little Trooper is now jointly owned with Rich and Gayle Dumas of The Fuzzy Farm in Saluda, Virginia.  While our gentle Cao Boi misses Trooper’s presence, we know Trooper is happier frolicking with boys as assertive as he.   We miss seeing Trooper on a daily basis, but we’re very proud the Dumas’ felt he was worthy of their stamp of approval -- not surprising since he is the result of their breeding Little Miss Muffet to Bolivian Makin’ Whoppee.   Trooper is counting the minutes ‘til he’s introduced to the ladies; they flirt with him, and he rears up and says: “I’m ready!”

Polaris is now two months old and shows his excellent conformation from both dam and sire.  It will be interesting to see if he remains the same color once the summer sun gets stronger.
Here's Cole, Laurel's cria, born March 21st.  As you can see, Cole stands straight as a soldier and has very lovely markings of black on his head, legs and tail.  He's our friendliest cria -- and loves talking to us as well.
